CoSPA has existed as a network since 1990 and provides mutual support and alliances between professionals who provide advice, education, and support to autistic people.
The objectives of CoSPA are:
To provide a supportive peer network
To enable access to useful learning and innovative best practice in autism
To provide a forum to share and discuss the challenges facing professionals working in autism
To provide an opportunity for professionals to reflect and refresh
Members meet to share and learn from each other in an independent, confidential capacity. Traditionally this is based on two network meetings per year. Other activities (conferences, written publications and training events) have also been delivered in the past.
“We meet as equals, no hierarchy, no judgement.”
“We meet twice a year and it’s my chance to be refreshed and filled with inspiration and energy again.
’I am so grateful for my time in the ‘CoSPA bubble’ ”
“My CoSPA colleagues have been my professional lifeline in the best and worst of times.
Having a peer sounding board has helped me throughout my career in autism.”
